HANGZHOU, July 27 (Xinhua) -- India's Esha Singh claimed the women's 25m pistol title, while France's Carole Cormenier and William Hinton of the United States won the women's and men's trap events respectively at the 2026 ISSF World Cup here on Monday, with host China taking one silver and one bronze on home soil.

Singh, 20, put on a dominant display, taking the lead right from the start and never surrendering top spot with a total of 40 hits, three clear of China's Zhang Yueyue.

Zhang got off to a slow start but found form midway through the final to climb into second place. India's Manu Bhaker, a two-time bronze medalist at the 2024 Olympics, finished third.

In the women's trap event, Cormenier notched her first World Cup victory of the season with a composed performance. The Frenchwoman opened with a perfect first round and stayed consistent throughout the final, missing just three targets on her way to 27 hits.

Rachel Tozier of the United States kept pace with Cormenier in the early stages before a handful of late misses dropped her to second place with 25 hits. Australian youngster Kiara Sioux-Lin Dean took the bronze.

The men's trap final went down to the final series, with Hinton edging out Qatar's Angelo Scalzone by a single hit for a hard-earned gold.

A late miss from Scalzone proved decisive, as Hinton finished with 28 hits against Scalzone's 27 to claim the crown.

Home shooter Qi Ying delivered a steady showing to claim bronze with 22 hits, earning China another podium finish at the tournament. ■
