Aerial photo taken on May 28, 2018 shows a view at the Haizhu wetland in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province. Located in south China, Guangdong Province faces the South China Sea and borders Hunan and Jiangxi provinces to the north. It boasts the well-known Pearl River Delta, which is composed of three upstream rivers and a large number of islands. Due to the climate, Guangdong is famous for a diversified ecological system and environment. In recent years, by upholding the principle of green development, Guangdong has made remarkable achievements in its ecological protection and economic development. The Haizhu wetland park, located in the urban area of Guangzhou, sets a good example of harmonious and green development. Enormous efforts have been made to protect the wetland since 2012. With thriving trees, blooming flowers, singing birds and floating clean streams, the wetland contributes a lot to the city's biological variety. As the environment improves, many companies including Alibaba, Tencent and Xiaomi have choosen surrounding areas of the wetland to start their branches. The "Guangdong Day" event kicked off on July 11, 2019 at the ongoing Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. Visitors can tour the "Nanyue Garden" to explore the outstanding progress the province has yielded in its development path. (Xinhua)
