CAIRO, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said on Saturday that the Palestinian cause is always a priority of Egypt's foreign policy.
Sisi made the remarks during his meeting in Cairo with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas.
In an official statement, the Egyptian president stressed Egypt's continued efforts in retrieving Palestinians' legitimate rights within international accords.
He said Egypt will overcome all obstacles to help achieve national reconciliation and unity of the Palestinian people.
For his part, Abbas highlighted his appreciation of Egyptian efforts in achieving reconciliation between Palestinian factions, while expressing his keenness to continue consultations and coordination with Egypt on different issues of common interests.
